Johor Malaysia

Founded: 2014

Social: Facebook

Teams: Mens Senior Football | Ladies Senior Football

Founded in 2014, Johor is the youngest of all Malaysian clubs, but has developed and evolved at a rapid pace into a club boasting over 40 members from 5 different continents, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, into the beating heart of the bustling Johorian metropolis.

Training twice a week, our ethos is to integrate the sport throughout Johor, to enable and encourage all interested to attend to get fit, be social, and provide them with the skills to compete in this sport, all while supporting local businesses in the Johor region through our events and activities.

When a large Irish contingent descended upon the “Jewel of the South” (an affectionate term often used to describe Johor) for a period of 18 months, Johor GAA was founded, and thanks to the support of our first sponsor Symtech, Johor GAA defied all odds and expectations reaching the semi-final of the Asian Gaelic Games (AGG) Senior championship in 2016, beating many favourites along the way.

Participating in the Asian Gaelic Games in 2014, 2016 & 2017 and the South Asian Gaelic Games in 2014, 2017 & 2018, Johor joined the illustrious rankings of tournament organisers and welcoming hosts, and in 2017  played host the first ever Peninsula Cup in Leisure Farms, Johor, which was attended by clubs from Vietnam, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Thailand.

With our motivated men’s club and the first ladies’ teams to attend, we are very excited about AGG Bangkok and would like to extend our thanks and congratulations to the organisers
