The Shenzhen Celts Gaelic Football Club was founded in the summer of 2004 by a couple of Shenzhen veterans – Peter Watson, Greg Schultheis, Donald MacCallum and Dan Givens. From a small bunch of unfit, unsporting and untalented group of wannabe footballers the club has grown into a bigger and more organized group of expats who play regular, competitive games.

The Shenzhen Celts have grown year on year and now provide a platform for both men and women’s teams and welcome new members no matter their level or background. At heart, the Celts are a social club. We aim to provide a healthy and enjoyable environment for people of all skill levels to play Gaelic Football. The club is represented by a diverse community; members are from a variety of sporting backgrounds and hail from every continent.

Shenzhen GAA always aims to send teams to the two main tournaments of the year, the All China Games (Shanghai 2019) and the All Asian Games (KL 2019). We also regularly organize games with our nearest rivals, Hong Kong GAA and the Shunde Gaels. We welcome these teams to Shenzhen as well as making the trip north and south to play them.

The club relies on the support of local businesses in order to book pitches, buy equipment and participate in tournaments. We are proudly sponsored by The Brew, Evil Duck, Kaizen Dynamic, Amrosia, and Little Mix Bakery. All of our sponsors are owned by former and current members of the club showing the true community within the club! Without them, the club simply wouldn’t exist.

We welcome people of all levels to join us on Friday nights at Yunding School in ShuiWei, Futian District. Training kicks off at 8:30pm with beers in Evil Duck after. First training is free and you get a free beer at Evil Duck as well.
